With VistaGlazz you can easily patch your Windows Vista system files to use custom visual styles and modify your Aero msstyle to be transparent on maximized windows, similar to the UxTheme patch for Windows XP.

Transparency stays when maximized
If your video hardware is DX9 certified and Windows Aero is activated you’ll notice the new transparency look. Normally in Windows Vista, the transparency only lasts until you maximize a window. VistaGlazz ensures transparency, even when your windows are maximized.

Custom visual styles
The new Desktop Windows Manager (WDM) in Windows Vista only allows visual styles signed by Microsoft. Windows XP contained a similar protection which was patched by the UxTheme Patcher. VistaGlazz delivers the same patch to Windows Vista, allowing you to use your own visual styles.

Minimum system requirements:
Windows Vista Premium/Business/Ultimate edition
Hardware support for Windows Aero
800 MHz processor
512 MB of system memory
2 MB of disk space

Recommended system requirements:
Windows Vista Premium/Business/Ultimate edition
Hardware support for Windows Aero
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB of system memory
2 MB of disk space

Important notes:
* Administrator rights are required to apply patches, elevation is possible
* We recommend that you activate Windows Aero before applying VistaGlazz patches
* Both 32bit and 64bit systems are supported
* We’ve tried hard to make the patch process as safe and robust as possible. Its always a good idea to create your own backup of:
- C:\windows\system32\ThemeUI.dll
- C:\windows\system32\UxTheme.dll
- C:\windows\system32\Shsvcs.dll
- C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles
