How to: Change icons in Windows Vista

Some of you did but some of you didn’t succeed. This tutorial will present you how to change the icons in Windows Vista and add a stylish look to your desktop.
First of all to be able to change the icons in Windows Vista you will need IconPackager. This is a program that allows users to change nearly all of their Windows icons at once by applying “packages” of icons. A package of icons contains icons to replace most of the common icons on your Windows PC. The software can be downloaded from here .
Once you finished installing the program we can begin. The software you installed adds a context menu called Change Icon. You will see this change when you will right click on an icon, doesn’t mather which one, just like we did in the picture below.

Next step is to select Change Icon.

Then simply select the icon you want to use. If you don’t like these icons you can select Browse and choose a custom icon you have.

With the help of IconPackager you can use other icon packs found on this site at the Vista Icons section. Simply open the program and there select the icon pack you want. If you don’t like the icon packs you can add some more by clicking Install new Package button. To see a preview of your icon pack click Preview . If you like what you see select Load and you’re done! You have successfuly installed the icon pack you wanted to.

hello, great tut, but when you want to install your own package, how do you do it? i installed a package, unzipped it into a folder, and then when i went to browse for it in IconPackager, i couldnt get any images.
