How to: Disable Aero Transparency in Windows Vista

 In this tutorial we will show you how to disable the aero transparency in Windows Vista. There are two reasons why you should do this: first of all if you don’t have a powerful computer this will speed up your Vista OS and the second reason is because this will help have a better visibility on your desktop.


Start by right clicking the desktop and selecting Personalize.

Now select Window Color and Appearance like in the picture below. To mazimize the picture simply click on it.

In the new window uncheck the Enable transparency box and click OK. And you are done! Your computer should show now better performances due to the fact that the aero option uses most of your resources.

    hi..was wondering if you can tell me why my ’switch between windows’ doesnt do the cool 3D display anymore after a recent formatting. the computer guy said that he used the same vista ultimate.. any tricks?
