Just a few months after Microsoft announced Windows Home Server Power Pack 2, the company has announced the beta program for the third version, which, not surprisingly, is oriented around Windows 7. Users can sign up for Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 on the Microsoft site.

People were concerned if they wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 they would be required to activate the current version of Windows they were using prior to upgrading. If true, this would be a departure from the Windows Vista upgrading process and add a mammoth hassle-factor to upgrading your PC to Windows 7 or reinstalling the OS. This alleged requirement was blogged about at various Web sites linking to Dwight Silverman’s original TechBlog post.
Over the last few weeks, Google has been releasing development builds of its Chrome 3 Web browser in a fast and furious pace. And with each release, the browser has been leaping forward in performance, particularly in Windows XP. With yesterday’s release of beta build 3.0.193.1, Chrome 3 has given Betanews reason to suspect that these performance gains are no accident.
